PRS Singlecut McCarty Private Stock "Guitar of the Month" Gold Leaf (2016)

To mark the 20th anniversary of Private Stock guitars, PRS launched its “Guitar of the Month” program in 2016, which ran for a year. Each month a different spectacular model was released, with only 20 specimens produced in each case. Here we have the September guitar: a McCarty Singlecut with tremolo and 24 frets, which body was covered with real(!) gold leaf as a highlight. This results in an extremely elegant look that is very different from a “classic” Goldtop. Apart from the visual wow factor this is of course also an instrument of the absolute highest class. The neck with its easy-to-grip “Pattern” profile fits perfectly in the hand, while the 24 frets provide extra playing options. From the very first note you can tell that this guitar has above-average vibration characteristics. Every chord sounds rich and beautifully balanced and individual notes delight the ear with plenty of sustain. The fantastic 58/15 humbuckers, which deliver the best vintage sound, are responsible for the transmission to the amp. Nice and smacking with just the right amount of “nose” in the sound that you know from old PAFs. This is exactly how you want a Goldtop to sound! Since the guitar was inspired by a custom-made model for Carlos Santana and has exactly his preferred specs he has immortalized himself with a signature on the backplate. All in all, this is a truly unique instrument that we can offer you in mint condition.
