Andy Wood is an American guitarist and mandolinist whose signature series from Suhr consistently produces outstanding instruments. This Modern T, crafted from swamp ash, is no exception, boasting a unique feel thanks to the wood's texture, which is perceptible even beneath the lacquer. This is achieved through a special "Torched Satin" finish, where the body is flamed/burned before lacquering, bringing out and preserving the wood grain. The "Whiskey Barrel" finish also possesses its own distinct charm. The bolt-on neck and fretboard are made of heat-treated roasted maple. 24 Jumbo stainless steel frets adorn the attractive fretboard and together with the "Modern Elliptical" neck profile (.780"-.830") and a 16" fretboard radius they ensure exceptional playability. Furthermore, the two "Woodshed" singlecoil pickups give the instrument the characteristic twang of the T-models and are hum-free thanks to SSCII technology. Warm and bluesy at the neck, assertive at the bridge and never thin or nasal. A superb frequency response, especially with overdriven and distorted sounds!
