In this Taylor 914ce, we are dealing with the finest components available from the Californian manufacturer. The back and sides are made of Indian rosewood, the top is made of Sitka spruce, the neck is made of mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge come in a beautiful ebony finish. As a special feature of this model series, an ergonomic body shaping for the forearm is added, which is also made of ebony. The whole thing comes in the grand auditorium shape with a Venetian cutaway, which guarantees a voluminous, room-filling sound. In fact, the 914ce sounds very balanced and combines silvery highs with crisp bass foundation. For live use, Taylor's proprietary Expression System 2 is installed, bringing the guitar's tone to the PA in a balanced manner and with enough output. With the 648mm scale and the nut width of 44,45mm the neck plays - as usual from Taylor - simply fantastic.
