Under the name “UniCut Guitars” Florian Lüttke produces guitars and basses by hand in Allershausen, Bavaria. He only uses tonewoods and hardware of the very highest quality, so that his self-designed guitars not only set their own standards in terms of their look, but also impress across the board with their great playing characteristics and fantastic sound. This is also the case with this “Shoto”, which we are delighted to offer you today. The name “Shoto” can be translated as “little sword” and should not be seen as a marketing gimmick by Florian Lüttke. The well-traveled guitar builder uses this term to express his great love for Japan and the special inspiration that he associates with the shape and elegance of Japanese swords. He transferred this extraordinary design element to the shape of the guitar by modeling the circumferential facet of the body on a “shoto”, defining the shape and at the same time creating an astonishing spatial depth. The fact that he also nicknamed this guitar "Yukikaze" (snow wind) is a first indication of its exclusive look, in which the matt black finish is broken up by a silver pattern. The playability of the guitar is first-class thanks to perfectly dressed frets, a slightly thicker medium neck profile and a dream weight of just 3110 grams. In terms of sound Lüttke relies on Häussel pickups ("Hot B" on the bridge, "Classic N A2" on the neck), which transmit every last nuance and leave nothing to be desired. The neck pickup can do pretty much anything from jazzy warm to Slash-smacking. The pickup on the bridge has enough definition to sound wonderfully differentiated even at high gain settings. Whether Rock, Blues or Jazz - this "Shoto", which we can offer you in mint condition including VAT, feels at home anywhere.
